OKH&C's real estate practice involves both residential and commercial transactions throughout Tennessee and other southeastern states and includes representation of a broad range of clients, including real estate developers, individuals, lending institutions, as well as corporate clients in a wide range of industries. Our real estate attorneys represent real estate developers and other corporate clients, lending institutions, and real estate brokers in the planning, structure, preparation and review of legal and title documents, finance, purchase/sell, leasing, land use and zoning, as well as the operation and management of residential and commercial condominium projects, both urban high rises and suburban projects, planned unit developments (PUDs), residential and mixed-use apartment complexes, as well as commercial real estate for restaurants, retail, and office space. Our firm also represents both landlords and tenants in the residential property context with respect to the negotiation and preparation of leasing documents and enforcement of the respective client's rights thereunder. Our attorneys represent general contractors, subcontractors, and property owners with respect to mechanics' and materialmen's lien issues. We also represent lenders with respect to various creditors' rights issues, including foreclosures of commercial and residential properties and the negotiation and preparation of forbearance and workout agreements. Our real estate attorneys also serve as local counsel for corporate clients and lending institutions in sophisticated multi-state real estate transactions. In addition, our firm has a fully staffed real estate title and escrow department, and we provide title insurance and escrow services at economical prices as agents for most of the major title insurance underwriters for transactions involving real property in Tennessee.

The Real Estate practice group at OKH&C also litigates disputes that arise from both residential and commercial transactions including lease and contract disputes, insurance and indemnity issues, and professional liability claims that arise against realtors, contractors and developers. Further, OKH&C has a depth of knowledge and experience in representing lending institutions and title agencies in coverage, foreclosure, and quite title actions throughout the State.
