In 1971, founding partners, William P. Ortale, John W. Kelley, David B. Herbert, and William H. Crawford, opened the doors of this fledgling firm based primarily on the trust it was given by powerhouse insurance companies such as State Farm Insurance Company, Shelter Insurance Company, Home Insurance Company and Ohio Casualty Insurance Company.  Over the past four decades, the list of companies has grown tenfold.  As a result, the lawyers at OKH&C have honed their skills in all areas of insurance defense.  Among those are:  premise liability, auto liability, general contractor's liability, professional liability, products liability, and policy interpretation with respect to coverage analysis is an practice area unique to this firm – another area where OKH&C is a leader in its field.
