Dayne P. Geyer

Associate

Dayne joined the firm in 2020 after completing a two-year clerkship with the Honorable Judge Richard Dinkins in the Tennessee Court of Appeals in Nashville, Tennessee. Before that he clerked for the Honorable Kelvin Jones in Davidson County Circuit Court and the Honorable Joseph A. Woodruff, Michael W. Binkley, James G. Martin III, and Deanna B. Johnson in the Twenty-First Judicial District Circuit and Chancery Courts in Williamson County, Tennessee. As a law clerk, Dayne authored opinions, orders, and memoranda that articulated the decisions made in civil, domestic, and criminal cases. Through these clerkships Dayne has honed excellent research and writing skills and learned the importance of attention to detail, preparation, and civility to the practice of law.

After earning his undergraduate degree at MTSU, Dayne matriculated to Belmont University College of Law. At Belmont, Dayne excelled academically, earning his way onto Dean’s List and receiving Best Performance Awards for Evidence and Criminal Procedure. Dayne was also heavily involved in Belmont’s Board of Advocates and was part of the first Belmont Mock Trial team to ever compete on the national stage. Since graduating, Dayne has continued to help coach and mentor Belmont Mock Trial students, both as a volunteer coach and then later as an adjunct professor.

Since joining the firm, Dayne has focused on representing developers and builders in real estate transactions, ranging from drafting purchase and sale agreements, declarations of covenants, conditions, and restrictions, commercial and residential lease agreements, and other related loan documents. He also provides guidance for homeowner and condominium associations on a range of matters, including enforcement of restrictions and interpretation of governing documents.
